Our licensed Idaho fishing guides work with anglers of all experience levels, from first-timers to seasoned fishermen, and are always happy to share techniques, tips, and local knowledge.
We are licensed to fish over 92 miles of the Salmon River across sections SA-3 and 4 from Challis to Northfork. Fishing is more than a profession for us, it’s a passion, and we look forward to sharing the experience with you on productive water in a relaxed, well-run setting.

Rawhide Outfitters offers seasonal guided fishing trips on the Salmon River, each designed around fish movement, water conditions, and the best time to be on the river. From spring and fall steelhead to summer salmon and trout fishing, our guides match technique and location to the season to create productive, well-run days on the water.
Steelhead Fishing Trips
Spring & Fall
Experience world-class steelhead fishing on the Salmon River during both spring and fall runs. Our guides use a variety of proven techniques, including back-trolling plugs or bait and fly fishing, depending on conditions and your preference.
Trips are conducted in comfortable drift boats equipped with heaters, and include a hearty, hot fisherman-style lunch prepared riverside.
Price: $630 per boat (2 people)
Salmon Fishing Trips
Summer Season
Salmon fishing on the Salmon River offers powerful fish and exciting days on the water. These trips are guided during the seasonal salmon run, with timing based on Idaho Fish & Game regulations and river conditions.
Our guides focus on productive water and proper technique to give you the best opportunity for a successful day.
Price: $670 per boat (2 people)
Trout Fishing Trips
June, July & August
Our trout fishing trips target rainbow and cutthroat trout using drift boat fishing and wade fishing. Guests may choose fly fishing or spin casting, and our guides tailor the approach to your experience level.
Catch-and-release is encouraged, with many days producing steady action on beautiful, lightly pressured water.
Price: $630 per boat (2 people)

One three-person boat is available and is senior and handicap friendly. Early booking is recommended for this boat.

Reservations & Cancellation Policy
Reservations are encouraged to ensure availability for your preferred date and activity. A 30% deposit is required to reserve all trips.
Deposits are non-refundable in the event of cancellation, but the full amount may be credited toward future dates.
Land-based activity prices are subject to 6% Idaho sales tax.
Family Discount
Children 12 and under receive 10% off per child on scenic float trips.

Gratuities
While gratuities are not mandatory, it is customary to offer a tip to your guide and cook in recognition of exceptional service.

We had an absolute blast on Monday while trout fishing! We both thought Marty was the best guide in the world! He was so knowledgeable and patient, especially with me being super inexperienced in fly fishing. We ended up catching some really nice rainbow trout and white fish and only landed one sucker and one pike minnow. The food was fantastic as well, I’m a sucker for a good oatmeal cookie!
