Lewis and Clark Interpretive TOURS...
"I
was overjoyed at the sight of this stranger and had no doubt of
obtaining a friendly introduction to his nation provided I could
get near enough to him to convince him of our being white men." - Meriwether

Interpretive
Van Tour
Full Day $95.00 per person
Ride
to Sacajawea Memorial Camp in Montana and then walk or ride 1/5
mile to Lemhi Pass where in 1805 Meriwether Lewis became the first
European-American to cross the continental divide. Proceed on
to the sites of other firsts: the first time an American flag
was unfurled west of the Rockies, and the expedition's first encounter
with Sacajawea's people, the Lemhi Shoshoni. Although this historic
area has changed very little in 200 years, an air conditioned
van and sumptuous lunch will make your journey through it quite
different from that experienced by the Corps of Discovery. Walking
parts of the trail will be an option.
Lost
Trail Pass
Full Day with lunch - $95.00 per person
Follow their route as they left the Shoshoni and traveled to Lost Trail Pass. This part of their journey was marked with confusion, hunger and more barriers to the Pacific.
Interpretive
Horseback Trail Ride

per person

From Wagonhammer Springs you'll ride up the canyon to reach officially marked portions of the trail that remain virtually as they were when traveled by a discouraged but determined Corps of Discovery. You'll see and experience the mountain trail, crossing ridges and high saddles far above the river. You'll learn about Clark's reconnaissance along the river he named Lewis's River and the start of the alternate journey over the rugged Lost Trail Pass. |
